Cancer is also known as malignancy, it is an uncontrolled growth of cell in a part of body. Cancer are classified in to many types, includes breast cancer, skin cancer, lung cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, and lymphoma.


Oncology is a branch of medical science and it deals with study, treatment, diagnosis and prevention of cancer. Oncology mainly divides into 3 types those are Medical oncology, Surgical oncology, Radiation oncology.


Journal of advances in cancer research and oncology is a peer-review open access journal. Our journal publishes high quality articles from latest research in the field of cancer and oncology. Journal of advances in cancer research and oncology focus on Chemotherapy, Radiation Therapy, Targeted Therapy, Cancer Vaccines, Stem Cell Transplantation, Lasers in Cancer Treatment.

ONCOGENES

Oncogenes also known as cancer-promoting genes and transforming genes. Oncogenes that cause the change of normal cells to become tumour cell due to the mutation or over expression of proto-oncogenes. These proto-oncogenes are perform many functions in the cell like regulation of cell division and programmed cell death (apoptosis) but these are converted to oncogenes due to mutation or over expression of gene. Some of the important oncogenes are ras, myc, HER-2/neu, src, hTERT and Bcl-2.
